WHATS
THE
GOSSIP??

Common questions we get asked at our events! Can't find an answer you're looking for? Feel free to email us, and we normally respond in 24-48 hours.

What is Tejano Cuisine?

We use "Tejano Cuisine" as a reflection of what Texas Mexican-American food is transforming to be. To be apart of this cultural chapter in food that we explore new interpretations of classic recipes, and create new ones of our own. With this exploration, we get to connect with others on a similar journey and refine the potential this cuisine can provide to the Texas food map.

How did y'all meet for the first time?

Logan and I first met each other at Nixtia Tqueria working on the same team, a fateful Sunday Brunch service bonding us over the sea of orders coming in at rapid speed. Since then, we have done countless kitchen services together working in multiple kitchens in pursuit of honing our craft. We created Acero Hearts as a way of sharing our message with Austin, and giving back to the people who helped us along the way.

2

Who do y'all source your ingredients from?

We source our ingredients from local farmers & ranchers in Texas. With Logan's background in La Grange, we work with partners who reflect the similar values of restorative agriculture and animal husbandry. It allows us to connect with the land of Texas, and with those who can teach us more on what goes into our food.

What's a Mixtia Tortilla?

A tortilla that has both masa harina (nixtamalized corn in fine texture) and regular flour! We love the texture and taste this blend brings, with using locally made products we are proud to have this as our spotlight item. A ever learning journey, we hand roll each tortilla in practice to be as great as the abuelitas I've known growing up.

Where are your events normally?

We have our events normally in the East Austin area! You can be sure to see us around the city as we take on more markets, and with hopes to becoming a brick & motor in the future. Be sure to look out on our media channels to where the next event will be! We occasionally do events outside of Austin as well.

What does Acero Hearts mean?

The literal translation for Acero Hearts is "Steel Hearts." To have grown a will of strength through the experiences we both have gone through, and a representation of what values we aim to share with our community. From care and passion in our food and farmers, to providing care into every experience to those who come to our events.
